Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.4.8.26933

Here’s the next Dolphin Viewer 3!

Fixed:

  • A bug that would make certain textures appear blurry at times.

New:

  • A menu option to collect a calling card from an avatar near you by right-clicking on them has been adopted from the Starlight skin made by Hitomi Tiponi.

RLV has been updated to 2.8.4, fixing one bug and bringing in one new feature:

  • Do not allow to “Attach to” on an object in-world, when @unsharedwear is active. This means that it is not possible anymore to circumvent the @unsharedwear restriction by rezzing an object in-world and then attaching it by right-clicking it and choosing “Attach to…” from the menu.
  • Allow to click on an in-world object when in Mouselook, even if the control keys are grabbed by a scripted object, but you have to hold Shift or Control or both to do so. This basically means that now you can stay in mouselook and still open doors even while wielding a weapon.

The underlying codebase has been updated to the latest sources from Linden Lab.

The last Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.4.7.26856

Haa haa, got you there. The last one … this side of Christmas and New Years Day 😛

No new features in this one, but a whole bundle of fixes from the Lab under the hood, and the RLV version number has been upped to 2.08.03.05. Oh, and the “Report avatar entering draw distance” stuff now finally works even without having the People panel open all the time.

Merry Merry and all that!

and …

The same procedure as every year, James! … Skål. Ouch.

By the way, over the holidays I’ll be busy with the holidays. So, no new version until sometime mid-January … and support will be a bit sparse too.

Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.4.6.26773

And the next one’s here: 3.4.6.26773.

New in this release:

  • “Teleport to ground level”, in “Me/My Movement”, with the keyboard shortcut control-shift-End.

Fixed:

  • The seams between the four quadrants in double-resolution snapshots with shadows enabled are gone.
  • A few fixes and improvements for the image quality with SSAO enabled, and for ambient fog over water (distance haze) with shadows enabled.
  • Some Windlight preset files have been renamed, since it turned out that having dashes in the file names confuses things. If you had used one of the Anan Adored settings, Tor Ice-like, or Tor Freak-a-demia in a day cycle, you’ll have to edit that day cycle again. This has no influence on estate Windlight.

Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.4.5.26752

Here is the next release in the 3.4-series: 3.4.5.26752.

New in this release:

  • You can now have the IM tabs arranged vertically instead of horizontally. The switch for this is in Preferences / Chat and requires you to restart the viewer after you switch.
  • More updates from viewer-development, the “rebake region” button is gone / has moved into a menu option in Build/Pathfinding.

Fixed:

  • Edge-on rotation always behaved as if “snap to grid” was switched on.
  • The various columns in the Area Search results list can now be properly resized.

Changed:

  • The “Graphics Level” slider has been modified some more to actually reflect the underlying changes to how graphics cards are grouped into classes. Basically, if your computer’s hardware defaults came to nothing higher than “High”, nothing has changed for you, except that the slider position for you now is “Med”… but the actual settings are still the same. The three settings in between “Med” and “Ultra” right now do not change anything, that will change over time while the Lab gathers more statistics about what graphics cards are used with which features turned on, and what performance to expect in which cases. “Ultra” is still “All stops pulled out” just like before.
