Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.3.11.24694

Here’s the newest version of the Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.3.11.24694.

New in this version:

  • The source code has been updated (based on Marine Kelley’s RestrainedLove 2.8.3.3 )
  • This also updates the Dolphin Viewer to the most recent viewer-development code.

This new version of Dolphin includes the spell checker, which is going to be in the official viewer at some point.
The spell checker is on by default, so if you do not wish to use it, it can be deactivated in Preferences -> Chat -> Spell Checking. Other spell check options can also be accessed there.

Please note that the viewer only includes dictionaries for US English, UK English, Spanish, Portuguese, and a Second Life dictionary. However, the format for the dictionaries is the same as the format that OpenOffice and other open source applications use, so it is easy to add more languages by importing the respective dictionaries, which can be downloaded from the OpenOffice dictionary page.

The downloads are on the download page as usual.

Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.3.10.24429

Here’s the next Dolphin Viewer 3 for you.

New in 3.3.10.24429:

  • The overlapping “Ignore” and “Block” buttons whenever a script pops open a llDialog with less than 3 buttons have been fixed.
  • A fix for STORM-1890 (where “Only friends can call or IM me” mutes your own chat in group chat, and all chat from non-friends in group chat) has been imported.
  • The columns in the Area Search floater can now be resized.
  • A memory leak in the antispam system has been plugged.
  • The sound issues where not all in-world sounds or UI sounds would not always play properly has been fixed.

The downloads are on the download page.

Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.3.9.24419

I have finally managed to build a working Dolphin Viewer 3 3.3.9, thanks to Jonathan Welch for pointing me towards Liny Odel’s fix for SH-3153.

Like I already said before, there is nothing actually new from me in this version.

The downloads are on the download page, as usual.

Serious bug: the file requester freezes the viewer in Ubuntu 12.04

It seems that this previously announced bug on Ubuntu 12.04 is more serious than initially assumed, and also is still not fixed.

From reports on the FireStorm bug tracker it seems that it is based on a packaging bug in Ubuntu itself, and affects everything in the viewer that opens a “open file” requester … snapshots, uploads, etc.

Do not update to Ubuntu 12.04 yet.

Dolphin Viewer 3 – 3.3.8.23798

Here is the next Dolphin Viewer 3!

New in 3.3.8.23798:

  • A fix specifically for Ubuntu 12.04 users – snapshots now work properly again. See previous blog post about the bug, which has now been fixed.
  • The viewer now uses the latest Linden Lab SSL libraries.
  • Terrain textures can now be up to 1024×1024 like in Dolphin Viewer 1.
  • The settings folder has been renamed to contain no blanks, making it easier to access from within scripts.
    To keep your old settings, rename your current Dolphin Viewer 3 settings folder before installing this update:
    On linux, rename ~/.dolphin viewer 3 to  ~/.dolphinviewer3;
    On Windows, rename C:\Users\(your windows username)\AppData\Roaming\Dolphin Viewer 3 to C:\Users\(your windows username)\AppData\Roaming\DolphinViewer3;
    On Mac OS X, rename /Users/YourMacUserName/Library/Application Support/Dolphin Viewer 3 to /Users/YourMacUserName/Library/Application Support/DolphinViewer3.

The downloads are on the download page, as usual.
